Dinner and a Movie: Gene Autry Westerns
Posted July 9, 2006

Gene Autry Entertainment, the Autry National Center, and the Golden Spur Cafe have planned a few get-togethers for the summer and you are invited!

Gene Autry from his film
In Old Monterey

Every Thursday evening in July, you can corral the kids in the car and roam on over to the Autry Museum because Gene is back in the saddle again with Champion! Spend a beautiful summer evening enjoying an outdoor dinner, gallery talks, and classic Gene Autry Western movies. Take advantage of the whole package: dine al fresco, tour the galleries, and then kick back and watch the famous Singing Cowboy on the silver screen. There is even time to shop in the fabulous Museum Store.

If you attended last summer’s Dinner and A Movie at the Autry you’ll be glad to know that same fun folks will be there this year: Sr. Curator Michael Duchemin will be leading the gallery talks, the Museum Store will supply more wonderful raffle prizes, Karla Buhlman will host a Gene Autry talk before the film, and of course a beautifully restored Gene Autry and Champion will grace the movie screen. Plus the Golden Spur Cafe has planned some festive menus to go along with our “Latin Film” theme.
