Synopsis:
Scanlon, a fake mining promoter, uses the opening of Boulder Dam as an excuse to sell worthless stock in Gold River, an old, deserted mining town, which he claims will be revived when a water and power line is put through from the dam. Gene Autry and his pal, Frog Millhouse, see through Scanlon's plan and try to warn the buyers, who refuse to listen. Among the newcomers are Helen and Patsy, two young manicurists who arrive in Gold River hoping to open a beauty shop. Gene and Frog are attracted to the two girls and are determined to help them. Gene accidentally discovers that there is a hidden vein of quartz-gold in an old mine near Gold River. After much action and plenty of fighting, Scanlon loses out and the people who have bought the land realize the full worth of their investment and Gold River becomes a thriving community.
