Brief Synopsis:
Gene and Pat are hired by a young rancher and her brother to help train horses. Champion’s uncanny intelligence proves vital in bringing to justice a crook who is also working at the same ranch.
Detailed Synopsis:
While traveling west, Gene Autry and Pat Buttram fall prey to “Trader” Adams, who steals Pat’s horse, shoots Gene’s mare, and leaves behind a young and curious colt that grows up into the “Wonder Horse,” Champion. Years later, Champ, Gene, and Pat inadvertently run across the same horse thief. Gene and Pat do not recognize him, but Champion has not forgotten his look and brutal methods. Gene saves the life of young, pretty Elaine Castle, and she offers Pat and him work helping her brother Jeff train stock for the cavalry. Adams, working undercover for wealthy Matt Nixon, also works for Elaine and does his best to slow down their commitments. Gene gets Adams fired for his brutality to the horses. Later, tracking a stolen horse to the Nixon ranch, Gene and Pat engage the heavies in an exciting brawl and chase. While Gene fights, Adams scurries for cover, but does not account for Champion’s “horse sense” and is corralled and brought to justice by the unrelenting “Wonder Horse.”
