The Gene Autry Melody Ranch radio debut of Pat Buttram's humorous poem "Did You Ever Hafta Sleep at the Foot of the Bed?" was on the December 25, 1948 broadcast. Pat would go on to perform this poem on every Melody Ranch Christmas Party show through 1954. This December 22, 1951 version, performed and broadcast live from Hollywood, California, is one of Pat's best.
