Synopsis:
Rancher Gene Autry is involved in a feud between cattlemen, who want land for grazing, and turpentine forest folk, who make a hardscrabble living off pine trees, in his hometown in Georgia. Gene quarrels with his father, who thinks the turpentiners are responsible for cattle rustling. When the ranchers plan to burn the turpentiners out of the forest, Gene warns them, is accused of being on their side, and is disowned by his father. Gene leaves for the rodeo circuit and joins a Wild West Show owned by Colonel Millhouse. Years later, the show returns to Gene's hometown where local bad man Len Parker is still stirring up trouble between the cattlemen and the turpentiners. Before Gene can put an end to Parker's cattle-rustling and tree-burning activities, Parker has both Gene's father and the head of the turpentiners, Bayliss Baynum, murdered. Gene is jailed for the killing of Baynum, so he enlists the aid of the Wild West show to stop a range war and clear his name.
