Synopsis:
In 1827, the fur empire of Jules Brissac in Michigan's Saginaw Valley wilderness is threatened by advancing settlers. Miller Webb, Brissac's henchman, disguised as an Indian, leads renegade Delaware Indians against the settlers. Young settler Randy Lane is rescued from such a raid by Gene Autry, a captain in Hamilton's Rangers sent to investigate the murders of the settlers. Gene's assistant, Smiley Burnette, poses as a fur trapper and gets a job around Brissac's trading post. Gene and Smiley, aided by Randy and Flora Tourney, Brissac's niece, find evidence pointing to the guilt of Brissac and Webb, and round them up to make the region safe for settlers.
